About
I'm Jason. I live somewhere between too many browser tabs and a well-seasoned cast iron skillet. This site is a place for me to write about the things I care about — food, travel, photography, technology, and whatever else catches my attention long enough to put words to it.
Cooking
I take cooking seriously without taking it too seriously. I like sharp knives, simple ingredients, and recipes that reward patience. Most weeknights you'll find me making something from whatever's in the fridge. Weekends are for the longer projects — braised meats, fresh pasta, the kind of thing that fills the house with good smells for hours.
Photography
I shoot mostly street and travel photography. I like finding the interesting in the ordinary — the way light falls on a building, the geometry of a staircase, the expression on someone's face when they don't know anyone's looking. You can find some of my work on Instagram (opens in new tab).
Travel
I prefer traveling slowly. Pick a city, stay a while, eat where the locals eat, walk until your feet hurt, and then walk some more. I'm more interested in the neighborhood coffee shop than the tourist attraction. The best trips are the ones where you come home feeling like you actually lived somewhere else for a bit.
Tech
I work in technology. I've been building things on the web for a long time and still find it genuinely interesting. I care about tools that work well, software that respects its users, and the craft of making things that are simple and reliable. This site is built with Astro and hosted on Cloudflare Pages — fast, static, no JavaScript shipped.
